These days the boys just get older and funnier. Two greatly humorous things happened this weekend. Nick and I and thus the boys had a very busy weekend. Saturday while we were at supper club Andy and Gabe got to spent the night at Nana and Grandpa's (Nick's parents). Although they live close and we see them every weekend this is only the third overnight ever! Don't worry guys the boys told all your secrets, staying up 'till 11, going to chucky cheese, and Gabe did mention something about getting to watch TV in the middle of the night! Needless to say Gabe has use the word "awesome" to describe the sleepover. Sunday afternoon Nick and I, along with some friends went to see Sweeny Todd in VA. The boys got to spend the better part of a day with Nana and Granddad (my parents). Although I thought I would be returning to pick them up much sooner then I did I was laughing as they told me the stories of the afternoon. I arrived at Mom and Dads after 10 pm only to have Gabe say "Can I go to bed now?" The best story that I have been told so far is that Andy stole the coconut cream pie from the table and carried it to the carpet where he not only dumped out the pie as he ate it, but then sat in the middle so my mom couldn't take it away. You may be able to tell from older posts that my boy loves his food.
Please note the following day I was worried to take Gabe to school when he hadn't had much sleep the nights before. Although we was plenty ready to go in the morning I worried all day. So as I quizzed him in the car on the ride home he was telling me all about his day. I was shocked to hear about his lunch experience when he told me (this is the first lunch day of the year), "Mommy when I opened by lunch box bugs flew out at me". That's right BUGS! Another mother of the year award goes to me. Gabe really wanted to pack the spider man lunchbox yesterday, most days he takes a plain red one. I said sure, as I continued to pack everything in the upper pocket. There is a very small bottom pocket, but I never usually but anything in there. Needless to say when closed that pocket is pretty airtight. Apparently Gabe opened that pocket and there was something so old it was beyond recognizable. Gabe also said," Some of the bugs could fly, but some didn't have their wings yet." He told me, "My teachers had to empty out my lunchbox outside, it smelled bad." Talk about horrible! Today at drop off his teacher just laughed and asked me what I brought to school today. I told her I wasn't sure seeing as how I didn't know yesterday either!
