Over Labor Day weekend Nick, the boys and I traveled to our old home sweet home in Greensboro. All of this was to go to a wedding but we made time to have a bit of fun. The boys really enjoyed the Children's Museum. I can't wait until we have a similar place in Asheville. Pack Place just doesn't really compare! This was a bit of a full circle trip for me. During my college years I spent several hours at this same museum with the dozen of children I nannied for. It was really great to be there with my own children and watch as they just jumped right in.
Of course much of the trip was a blast without the museum and celebration station and the movie night we had. Most of the fun for Gabe was simply staying in a hotel. He loved having "his key" to the room. Every time we left and returned he took charge opening the outside entrance and our room entrance. He also insisted that he roll his own luggage into and out of the room. Now, just for a mental picture, this in not child sized luggage. This a large bag that contained his and Andy's belongings. Nick and I laughed when while getting ready to leave he went to get "his" bag. He had a cup of juice in his hand for the car ride, he pushed the button and pulled up the lever on the bag and he turned to me and ask , "Mommy, does this thing have a cup holder??" Disappointed when I said no that the bag didn't have a cup holder, he said,"Well, I guess you're going to have to carry my drink."
